Curacao Beach Weddng

Destination wedding: Curacao!

How lucky was I to get to photograph a beautiful beach wedding on the dream Caribbean Island of Curacao!!! For those of you who are unsure where Curacao is, it is a tiny island lying approximately 65 kms (40 miles) north of Venezuela, and has the most beautiful beaches, amazing fresh fish and shell fish, and not forgetting, the most beautiful and friendly people too! If you want to swim in crystal clear water, then Curacao is the place to fly to!!

Jo and Shercinio travelled all the way from Holland to say their vows on a tiny Caribbean beach surrounded by their family and friends, surrounded by all their loved ones, their day was absolutely perfect in every way! As you can imagine, the day was hot, the sea was blue and crystal clear, the groom was handsome and the bride was simply breathtaking!

I loved every minute of being fortunate enough to share in their day and being able to capture their special moments!

Go ahead and enjoy looking at the photos!

Intimate wedding on an early winters day

Winter wedding in Germany!

Early December in Germany can be a very dark day also bringing a lot of snow with it, but all brides are just meant to have the perfect day, and Simone was not to be denied this either! Early December, Simone said her vows with her best friend and soul mate, Reinhard, in what was a small intimate wedding, with Catchlight Image doing the honours in terms of capturing their special moments!

Beatrice and Peter

Wedding in Germany!

Beatrice and Peter asked me to photograph their wedding after having come to know me when I photographed Beatrice's daughter and her family a few years back!! She told me that after seeing her granddaughters photos, she decided there and then, when she and Peter set a date, she would definitely want me to photograph a wedding!! Of course you can imagine how happy I was to hear that!! Meeting Peter and Beatrice was a wonderful time because they were so excited to show me around their cottage which they had completely revamped, taking their time to source every minute detail which would be used to change what was initially a very old and very rundown cottage to what they now turned it into!! A beautiful, tastefully designed cottage with hidden nooks and crannies where one could relax and have a direct view to their gorgeous little garden, which would be the backdrop for their couple shoot on the day of the wedding!! Every little detail which you see in the background of the couple shoot photos, was a little gem found by Beatrice, even down to the old bicycle!!

Summer Garden wedding

Emma and Georg had their garden wedding in late September 2015, and by all standards, that time of the year should still have had reasonable weather!!! The weather gods apparently did not get that newsflash, and driving to the wine farm that morning, I had very real concerns that the garden wedding would not be able to take place in the actual garden, but would rather have to be moved indoors!!

There is however an old saying, which says, "Happy is the bride whom the sun shines on"and Emma was certainly not to be disappointed!! Literally about 30 minutes before the ceremony was due to begin, the clouds parted, the sun came out, and the staff frantically set out the garden chairs, arranging everything perfectly, so that Emma and Georg were able to enjoy their planned garden wedding!!
