Bettina and Thomas

Couple shoot shortly before sunset!

"Love at first sight!"

Those are the words which Bettina used when describing their first meeting, some 4 years ago!

How wonderful when 2 souls have been searching for each other, to then find each other and to know that "this is it!" That you have finally come home and found your soul mate!

Bettina went on to say that together they have so much fun, they are able to talk about anything and everything and they simply love being together!!

Photographing Bettina and Thomas was a lot of fun for me as I could feel their energy, feel their emotions and as I have previously mentioned, that's what I love about my job: I get to capture people showing their emotions and after all, isn't life just one gallery of emotions!

Enjoy the photos!

Photoshoot with Ramses (and Yvonne and Tom) !!

Family shoot with a difference!

Those of you who know me, and know me well, senior dogs have an extra special place in my heart, so while I was in Cape Town and was advised that I had been booked for a photo shoot with a senior fur baby on my return to Germany, you can imagine how thrilled I was!!

Puppies are wonderful, no doubt about it, but senior dogs have that extra special something, which a puppy still has to "grow into!" Dogs have always held a special place in my heart, from a small child playing with the dogs in our street, to growing older and always wanting a dog of my own, till I eventually "found" my soul dog Abby, and being granted the privilege of sharing in her life for 14 wonderful years! So as you can imagine, being granted the honour of doing a photoshoot with Rameses, also 14 years old and also suffering with his hips, this was a shoot which I knew was going to be extra special and one which would touch me deeply!

Ramses, as the name may have hinted to you, was born on the streets in Egypt, (I'm not exactly sure where) and having spent his first 11 months fending for himself, he was finally rescued and brought to Germany, where he found his forever home with Yvonne and Tom, and Yvonne and Tom, found their soul dog! Yvonne mentioned to me that she always wanted a dog who would run up to her, wagging his tail furiously when she returned from work, but with Ramses, this pure act of excitement and love took a bit of time!! Granted he did come to her, he wagged his tail, but then he would go off and continue to do his own thing, simply ignoring her!! A dog growing up on the street sees the world and humans in it differently and with love and time and patience, Ramses finally felt relaxed enough and secure enough to know that Yvonne and Tom, were going to be HIS family, and that love, and food, and shelter, were no longer to be begged for, to be fought for, and perhaps given for a brief moment in time, but finally, all these wonderful things had finally become his!!

Ramses is simply put a beautiful fur baby!

Go ahead and enjoy the photos!!

Kerstin and Pascal a gorgeous summer wedding in Germany

Elegant wedding at a German wine estate

Every wedding is beautiful!

Every wedding is romantic!

Every bride is beautiful!

Every groom is handsome!

But sometimes, you come across a wedding which can be described as everything above, and even more!! This is the way I felt about Kerstin and Pascal's wedding. Kerstin looked simply stunning. Pascal looked handsome. Every detail of their outdoor ceremony had been finely catered to, and their table decorations, one could see , had been lovingly chosen, each detail hand picked!!

Have a look at their photos and become a part of their day!

Gorgeous couple shoot in Darmstadt, Germany

I love couple shoots!!! There is nothing finer than bearing witness to a couple in love, be it a couple who have been together for many, many years, or a couple who have just met and are learning to savour those moments where your heart beats faster, where you are lost for words because of the sheer joy at knowing that you have found "the one!"

That's what it was like during the shoot which I did for Maike and Domenic! I didn't have to direct them, their shoot simply unfolded in front of my eyes

Intimate wedding on an early winters day

Winter wedding in Germany!

Early December in Germany can be a very dark day also bringing a lot of snow with it, but all brides are just meant to have the perfect day, and Simone was not to be denied this either! Early December, Simone said her vows with her best friend and soul mate, Reinhard, in what was a small intimate wedding, with Catchlight Image doing the honours in terms of capturing their special moments!

Beatrice and Peter

Wedding in Germany!

Beatrice and Peter asked me to photograph their wedding after having come to know me when I photographed Beatrice's daughter and her family a few years back!! She told me that after seeing her granddaughters photos, she decided there and then, when she and Peter set a date, she would definitely want me to photograph a wedding!! Of course you can imagine how happy I was to hear that!! Meeting Peter and Beatrice was a wonderful time because they were so excited to show me around their cottage which they had completely revamped, taking their time to source every minute detail which would be used to change what was initially a very old and very rundown cottage to what they now turned it into!! A beautiful, tastefully designed cottage with hidden nooks and crannies where one could relax and have a direct view to their gorgeous little garden, which would be the backdrop for their couple shoot on the day of the wedding!! Every little detail which you see in the background of the couple shoot photos, was a little gem found by Beatrice, even down to the old bicycle!!

Summer Garden wedding

Emma and Georg had their garden wedding in late September 2015, and by all standards, that time of the year should still have had reasonable weather!!! The weather gods apparently did not get that newsflash, and driving to the wine farm that morning, I had very real concerns that the garden wedding would not be able to take place in the actual garden, but would rather have to be moved indoors!!

There is however an old saying, which says, "Happy is the bride whom the sun shines on"and Emma was certainly not to be disappointed!! Literally about 30 minutes before the ceremony was due to begin, the clouds parted, the sun came out, and the staff frantically set out the garden chairs, arranging everything perfectly, so that Emma and Georg were able to enjoy their planned garden wedding!!

Bride + Groom + Dogs = The perfect wedding!

Wedding Couple who included their dogs!

I love dogs!! I cannot say that or emphasize that enough, so let me repeat myself just in case you missed that first part......I love dogs!!! So you can imagine how excited I was to receive a call from Natascha asking whether I would be interested in shooting their wedding since she had seen my social media pages where I had waxed on about dogs, and since she is a huge dog lover, she felt that the fit was just right!!!! Also, her dogs are not the smallest so she needed somebody who would firstly not be afraid of dogs, and secondly, was not afraid of large dogs!! I fitted both those categories but imagine my disappointment when i heard that the date of her wedding co-incided with me being in Curacao, shooting another wedding!!! Sigh!!  But since Catchlight Image does also have 2 other photographers supporting me and shooting weddings when i am simply not able to do so, and one of my other photographers is equally crazy about dogs, we knew that in the end, this was just going to be one of those situations, where things were going to work out!!

We met one evening, where we spent time chatting about the upcoming wedding and of course, dogs!!!

This kind of wedding was always something i dreamt about....a bride walking down the aisle and including her fur babies in her wedding plans!!! I am still really excited about this wedding, and of course, the beautiful fur babies who got to be a part of this very special day!

So contact me if you are a bride, and you are passionate about including your dogs into your wedding day, I am sure that we are a perfect fit!!
